Each spring the 91快活林 Journalism Department attends the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association conference to compete in collegiate and professional journalism events. This year the team will be traveling to Dallas to show-off its award wining newspaper and literary magazine. In order to alleviate some of the travel expense, the Eagle Staff will be hosting a Bar-B-Q cook-off fundraising event.
Theatre Northeast, the student theatre group of 91快活林, will present the play Thieves March 2-5 in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts.
The audience will join the cast for an intimate, on-stage performance of the 1974 Broadway play by Herb Gardner. The Thursday through Saturday shows will be held at 7:30 p.m.
The 91快活林 Eagles baseball team traveled to Ranger College this past weekend and found themselves on the losing side of a three-game series. The Eagles lost the first game 7-6 before coming back to win game two 8-2. Ranger took back the series in game three with a 7-5 win.
In game one, the Eagles tried to recover from a four-run deficit, but the late-game rally was unsuccessful.

The 91快活林 Eagles baseball team hosted two Kansas teams, Pratt Community College and Hutchinson Community College, over the past weekend. The Eagles came out on top 3-1 for the four-game stretch. Home runs, which included a walk-off by Kyle Moos in the tenth inning, helped lead to the Eagles?
The Texas Association for Literacy and Adult Education recently lauded a 91快活林 Adult Education Student, Jose Martinez, and an instructor Jaudon Wilhite, with two separate but distinctive honors.鈥 Martinez, an 91快活林 ESL (English as a Second Language) student from Mount Pleasant has received the Texas Association for Literacy and Adult Education (TALAE) ESL Persistence Award.鈥 This statewide honor is awarded to students who exhibit personal accountability and commitment to pursuing their education while maintaining their family and civic responsibilities.鈥 A cash aw
AEP/SWEPCO recently gave $1,000 to sponsor the upcoming Engineer Roundtable at 91快活林. The 91快活林 Eagles Baseball and Softball teams have kicked off their spring seasons. Eagles Softball won their season opener against North Central Texas College 9-6 Saturday. The Eagles defeated NCTC 9-6 on Saturday.
The Eagles collected 11 hits and NCTC 8. Kymber Green earned the win for 91快活林.鈥 She pitched four innings, giving up one run, two hits, and striking out two.鈥 Morgan Robinson started the game for 91快活林, she pitched three innings, giving up five runs, and six hits.
Linda Lucas Hardy is proof that fine art can be found right here in Northeast Texas. The prolific oil painter and color pencil artist from Omaha has been published in more than 20 magazines and a dozen books.
The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at 91快活林 recently received a $3,000 donation from J.T. and Kaye Brison. The Brisons are pictured with Carolyn Franks, Director of the Whatley Center (left). The funds were used to sponsor the performance of Restless Heart on Friday, February 10. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. and limited tickets are still available by calling the Whatley Box Office at 903-434-8181. Seats are $30 for adults and $10 for 91快活林 students and children 17 and under.
