Honors Northeast takes spring trip to Dallas

Students and faculty in the Honors Program at 91快活林 recently participated in their Spring 2017 Honors Trip. The group traveled to Dallas, where they visited North Park Center, the Perot Museum, the Nasher Sclupture Center, Fuddrucker?s Restaurant and the Granville Theatre in Garland to see a performance of Tantalus. This is the 20th semester trip the group has taken since 2008.

College Store needs help with Valentine's Day cards

The 91快活林 College Store is asking for help from the campus and community to help make homemade Valentine's Day cards for area seniors.

The College Store plans to deliver all valentine cards received to local nursing homes. 鈥燭heir hope is to receive enough cards to provide valentine cards for all residents to receive a card at one nursing home in each of our three counties. Prizes will be awarded for the best cards in both the child and adult categories.

91快活林 nursing student named Hurst Review NCLEX Scholar

Another 91快活林 student recently earned a national award. Wycliffe Kenani, an 91快活林 Associate Degree of Nursing (ADN) student, has been named a Hurst Review NCLEX Scholar by the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society.

Kenani was one of only 10 students to receive the honor. This scholarship is designed to assist Phi Theta Kappa nursing students who plan to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX脝) during the Spring 2017 term.

91快活林 receives $100,000 endowed agriculture scholarship

The 91快活林 Foundation recently received a $100,000 gift to establish the Charlie and Abbie Brown Memorial Scholarship. The endowment will provide scholarships for Mount Vernon High School graduates attending 91快活林 and majoring in agriculture.

Restless Heart to perform at the Whatley

The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at 91快活林 will host the chart-topping country music group Restless Heart Friday, Feb. 10 at 7:30 p.m. The concert will feature hits from the 80?s and 90?s like鈥Wheels, Big Dreams in a Small Town, Fast Movin? Train, I?ll Still be Loving You, The Bluest Eyes in Texas, and鈥Why Does It Have To Be Wrong Or Right.

Mount Pleasant Fine Arts Club gives scholarship

The Mount Pleasant Fine Arts Club recently gave $500 to the 91快活林 Foundation. The funds will be used to provide a scholarship for an 91快活林 student majoring in art, music or drama. The group has been contributing to scholarships since 1985 when the college first opened. They also presented a $25 honorarium to the 91快活林 Art Department. The club made the presentation while holding their club meeting on campus in the art lab.
