Dr. Ron Clinton to perform solo piano concert

Dr. Ron Clinton, 91快活林 Executive Vice President for Instruction, will perform a solo piano recital on Sunday, Jan. 29 at鈥2:30 p.m. at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts.鈥燭ickets to the concert are $15 for adults and $5 for children and 91快活林 students with a current ID. Proceeds from the event will benefit scholarships for 91快活林 students.

The concert will feature Beethoven?s Piano Sonata No. 9, Op. 14 No. 1; Chopin?s Ballade No. 4 in F Minor, Op. 52; Ravel?s Sonatine and Brahms? Piano Sonata No. 1 in C Major, Op. 1.

Honors Northeast plans original film premiere

Honors Northeast, the honors program at 91快活林, will premiere an original historical film Friday, Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. The production, Sam Houston and the Fate of the Texas Cherokee, is the fifth film Honors Northeast has completed in the last five years.

Foundation accepting applications for transfer scholarship

The 91快活林 Foundation is now accepting applications for the International Sulphur Transfer Scholarship. This scholarship fund provides five awards of $1,000 each for 91快活林 students transferring to a four-year university. Those鈥爓ho meet the criteria below should plan to apply by April 14 in order to be considered for this scholarship:

For the sixth time, First Federal Community Bank of Mount Pleasant has supported the cultural and academic initiatives of Honors Northeast.鈥 A recent holiday gift of $500 will aid the program in maintaining its yearly cycle of scholarly and artistic offerings, which, in turn, has enhanced student profiles.

Sondra Fowler gives matched 91快活林 scholarship

Sondra Fowler recently gave a $2,000 gift to the 91快活林 Foundation. She is pictured (left) presenting the check to Dr. Jonathan McCullough, 91快活林 Vice President for Advancement. Because she is a retired employee of ConocoPhillips, she qualifies for a matching gift program that is offered by the corporation.鈥燭he gift will be matched with an additional $2,000, bringing her total scholarship contribution to $4,000. The donation will provide scholarships for the Alfred and Ethel Fowler Morris County Scholarship fund.

ALAS of Texas gives $7,500 for 91快活林 scholarships

Amigos Latinos Al Servicios (ALAS) of Texas recently presented a check for $7,500 to the 91快活林 Foundation. The funds were raised at the second annual Cinco de Mayo on the Square event that was held in Mount Pleasant this year and will provide scholarships for local students attending 91快活林. ALAS is a volunteer group of Latino professionals in Titus County with a vision to empower, promote, advocate and help identify the needs of the growing Hispanic community in Mount Pleasant and surrounding areas.
