Pineywoods Iris Society gives 91¿ì»îÁÖ scholarship

The Pineywoods Iris Society recently held a meeting at the Elizabeth Hoggatt Whatley Agriculture Center at 91¿ì»îÁÖ. The group presented a check for $500 to the 91¿ì»îÁÖ Foundation in order to provide a scholarship for an 91¿ì»îÁÖ agriculture student. Kathy Thompson is pictured presenting the check to Dr. Jonathan McCullough, 91¿ì»îÁÖ Vice President for Advancement, along with other club members.

Phi Theta Kappa hosts 1920s Murder Mystery Dinner

Alpha Mu Chi, the 91¿ì»îÁÖ chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, will host a two-night, 1920s-themed Murder Mystery Dinner event in the foyer of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts March 20 and 21.

Tickets are $20 each and includes a fun evening of sleuthing and a three-course meal. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. on both nights and will last approximately two and a half hours.

?This is our second year to host the murder mystery dinner fundraiser. Last year it sold out, so we decided to add a second night,? Dr.

Eagles Baseball picks up one win in Arkansas Baptist College series

Last week, the 91¿ì»îÁÖ Eagles baseball team faced Arkansas Baptist College in a four-game series. The Eagles started the series off with an 8-5 win over Arkansas, but failed to claim victory in the following games.

Northeast collected one run in the top of the first after Darien Simms scored on a sacrifice fly by Will Dawson. Arkansas pitcher Wesley Johnson allowed two runs in the second. Back-to-back walks and a hit by wild pitch scored Eagles? Chandler Dean and Jhosmel Rodriguez.

Home runs for the Eagles came in the third and the fourth.

Construction Update February 23

The latest on the construction project

? The Student Services building is officially open again. All of student services and the business office have moved into the newly-renovated space.

?†The Testing Center will move to its new space in the Student Services building soon. Testing will be closed March 2 for the move, but will reopen March 3 in the new location.

? Continuing Education will be open in their new location in the Student Services building beginning Friday, March 3.

Eagles Softball update

The 91¿ì»îÁÖ Eagles softball team traveled to Temple last weekend to participate in a five-game tournament. The Eagles faced San Jacinto, Temple, McLennan, Blinn and Galveston. The team fought hard, but were unable to come back home with a win.

The Lady Eagles faced three teams on Friday. In the first game versus San Jacinto, Northeast put up a good fight.

Brittany Baggett collected two hits and two RBI for the Eagles and helped put the team on the board with a double in the top of the seventh inning.
