91快活林 offers evening police academy

The Northeast Police Academy at 91快活林 is now accepting applications for its next evening police academy, which begins on鈥燤onday,鈥燤arch 2鈥燼nd will run through September 2015.


The evening academy鈥爉eets from 5-10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and every first and third Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.鈥犫燭his program is designed for working adults who may not have time to complete the daytime academy.

Honors Northeast takes cultural trip

Honors Northeast students and faculty鈥爎ecently took their 14th鈥爎egional culture trip, a tradition that dates back to 2008. Students toured the Perot Museum, the Dallas Museum of Art, and the Nieman Marcus Department store, stopping for snacks and meals at Starbucks, Jorge?s Tex Mex, and the Twisted Root Burger.鈥 Some students saw the Dallas Mavericks play the Denver Nuggets, and others went to the North Park Mall.鈥燭he trip was free for all honors students. Professors Shirley Clay, Sarah Rainey, and Andrew Yox drove vans.

Wesley Foundation breaks ground on student center

The 91快活林 Wesley Fellowship held a groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday to kick off construction of a new student ministry center on the 91快活林 campus. The Wesley Fellowship Board, which is made up of members of area United Methodist Churches, has raised funds for the project since 2006. The student center will feature recreational and meeting spaces that will be available to students, faculty, staff and community members.
