The first week of classes can be a stressful time in the life of a college student. To help alleviate this stress, and to encourage students to meet new people, we have planned a Welcome Back Social for students, faculty and staff. The 91¿ì»îÁÖ Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program recently learned that all 13 of its December 2018 graduating class passed their professional licensure exam on the first try. Upon graduating with their Associate of Applied Science degree in PTA, graduates are required to sit for the NPTE Board Exam before starting their professional careers.

The 91¿ì»îÁÖ Foundation recently received $91,000 from the U.S. Department of Education to match contributions to the 91¿ì»îÁÖ endowment in 2018. These funds are part of the Title V grant, which has money allotted for matching gifts over a five-year period. It’s time for a flashback to the 1960s as Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone comes to the stage of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at 91¿ì»îÁÖ. The concert will be Saturday, Jan. 12 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available online at .  

Richard Perryman recently gave $7,000 to support the Work Scholarship Program at 91¿ì»îÁÖ. Perryman (right) is pictured presenting the gift to Nita May, 91¿ì»îÁÖ Director of Development. The Work Scholarship Program allows select students the opportunity to work on campus during the summer to earn money to pay for their college education in advance. The program is privately-funded by generous donors, like Perryman.

The 91¿ì»îÁÖ Board of Trustees accepted the resignation of board member Jerry Webster Tuesday evening at the regular December meeting. Webster, who served in Place I since 2013, announced his retirement from the board in November. 

91¿ì»îÁÖ recently held its annual employee Christmas luncheon and honored employees celebrating service milestones and retirements. Those who were honored for service are pictured above. The Adult Education Department at 91¿ì»îÁÖ is accepting new students for its GED (General Educational Development) and ESL (English as a Second Language) programs. Those interested in participating in either of these free educational programs should call to make an appointment for registration.
