Dr. Winston McCowan, retired Biology Professor at 91快活林, was presented by Temple Masonic. Lodge No.70 Mount Pleasant, Texas. The Mirabeau B. Lamar award of excellence for personal achievement.
Mirabeau B. Lamar, the second president of the Republic of Texas, has been called 鈥渢he father of the Texas public school system鈥 for his leadership in establishing quality public education in Texas. Lamar was a member of the Masonic Fraternity, known then as it is today, for its strong support of excellence in the public schools

CHS middle schoolers get makeovers from Cosmetology
The 91快活林 Cosmetology Department dual credit class from Chapel Hill welcomed some special clients this week as young ladies from Chapel Hill Middle School visited campus to learn about cosmetology and to receive makeovers from their older Chapel Hill classmates. It was a fun learning experience for the younger girls and gave the dual credit students valuable practice working with clients.
91快活林 Farm sets annual Springfest March 29-30
The 91快活林 Agriculture Department is planning its third annual Spring Fest at the 91快活林 Farm. The event will be held March 29-30 at the 91快活林 ag complex and farm located at 2886 FM 1735 Mount Pleasant (across from the main campus).
Each year this event serves as an open 鈥渇arm鈥 to invite the community to come out and enjoy a day at the Sustainable Market Farm that the staff and students work hard to operate.
91快活林 employees offered Bleed Control Basics course
91快活林 is conducting half-day safety courses for employees throughout the spring 2019 semester.
The Bleeding Control portion consists of lecture and hands-on training in stopping life-threatening bleeding. Topic two involves citizens response to an active crisis. Lecture and videos were used to train the layperson on how to respond to an incident. Topic three was Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). CPR and AED use for infant, child and adult with response to choking.
