The 91����� Adult Education Department will be offering a FREE Fast Track citizenship prep class beginning May 10, 2022.

The classes will provide information on English and citizenship preparation, eligibility for naturalization, test-taking resources and strategies and individualized instruction as needed. Classes will be held at the Hanson-Sewell Center at 237 College Street in Pittsburg on Tuesdays and Thursdays May 10 through June 2 from 4:30-8:30 p.m. Registration is May 2-9 (by appointment).

91����� is pleased to announce the hiring of two new Head Coaches for the Eagle Soccer Programs. After a few years stint as a combined position, the Women’s Team has hired Assistant Coach Heather Brady as the new Women’s Head Coach, and the Men’s team has hired Assistant Coach Juan “JD” Perales as the Men’s Head Coach. Both Coaches will assist the other with each team as well.

The 91����� Board of Trustees held its regular April meeting on Tuesday, April 26. It marked the final meeting for trustee Frankie King, who is retiring from the board. King, of Camp County, joined the board in 2019.

The 91����� Foundation will again participate in East Texas Giving Day (ETGD) on Tuesday, April 26. East Texas Giving Day is an 18-hour event that provides critical funding for area nonprofits like us. ETGD takes place online between 6:00 a.m. and 11:59 p.m.

Members of the Morris County Retired School Employee Association recently visited 91����� for their April meeting. The group presented Dr. Jonathan McCullough (right), 91����� Executive Vice President for Advancement, with a $500 check to support the Work4College Program. The 91����� Continuing Education Department will host a Phlebotomy Technician Program this summer. The course will be held June 1 through August 12 on the main 91����� campus in UHS 221. Classes will be from 6-10 p.m. 

The certificate program consists of 146 contact hours of lecture, lab and clinical training for students to become technicians. Upon successful completion of the Phlebotomy Technician Program, students will receive a certificate of completion and will be eligible to sit for the national certification exam through the National Health Career Association. 

The 91����� Continuing Education Department will again host its annual Kids Discovery College July 11-21. Classes, which will meet Monday-Thursday for two weeks, are designed for kids ages 8-16. Course topics will be announced soon. 

Early registration will be held May 3-26. Those who register early will receive a tuition discount and will have the first pick of classes. 

The 91����� Career and Transfer Center will host a Transfer Panel on Thursday, April 28 from 12:30-1:00 p.m. in BT 111B. The panel is designed for students wanting to transfer to a university. They will have the opportunity to meet with former students Daisy Banda and Andrew Juarez, who will share their personal transfer experiences.
