Two 91快活林 science students are utilizing  an independent study opportunity to conduct groundbreaking research on fish parasites. Michael Rodriguez (left) is from Marietta.  He wants to pursue more work in agriculture (he holds an AAS in agriculture) and go into wildlife conservation with a primary interest in restoring land for farming use. George Burrows (right) is a resident of Mt. For twelve years running, the scholars of Honors Northeast have premiered previously un-filmed stories of the Texas past.   But this year, Honors Northeast, and the 91快活林 Webb Society have teamed with Herald and Co. Motion Pictures to present a story that has never even been told before.  The film follows the research of the Reverend Dan Hoke of Franklin County, and 91快活林 Presidential Scholar, Luke McCraw.

Those interested in learning more about cutting-edge issues relating to the history of Texas are welcome to a free Lunch & Learn at the Mount Pleasant Library, Thursday, 22 February, 12:15-1:15 p.m.  The series of presentations will occur in the library鈥檚 community room, with free pizza, salad, drinks, and dessert to all who RSVP with Dr. Andrew Yox at ayox@ntcc.edu by 5 p.m. on 21 February.

antigone now auditions

The 91快活林 Theatre Department is excited to announce auditions for the spring production of ANTIGONE NOW. It鈥檚 a modern adaptation of the Greek classic Antigone. Auditions will be Tuesday, February 13th from 6:30 to 8:00 pm in the Whatley. Auditions will be 鈥渃old reads,鈥 or cuttings from the script. These cuttings will be provided.

For the 33nd time, thanks to honors donors such as Drs. Jim and Paula Archer, 91快活林 honors students were able to take a free, day-trip to a big city. Seventeen students and four faculty drivers left campus at 7:45 a.m., 26 January for a whirlwind experience that began with free breakfasts at Starbucks in Greenville, and ended with the musical, I love you, You鈥檙e Perfect, Now Change, in Garland.

91快活林 welcomes Artist Tom Morrissey as the exhibiting artist for February.  His artwork will be on display beginning Friday, February 1st 鈥 Thursday, February 22nd.  A reception will be held on Wednesday, February 7th, at 12:30 p.m. in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts.

The 91快活林 Foundation and the Carroll Shelby Automotive Program took center stage in front of thousands and a national television audience last Friday night at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona. The college鈥檚 1968 Shelby GT350 convertible sold to John Simonetti from Granbury, Texas with a bid of $100,000.

The 91快活林 Board of Trustees met for its regular January meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 30th. In the President鈥檚 Report, Dr. Ron Clinton stated that preliminary enrollment numbers show a 2.8% increase in headcount and a 4.4% increase in semester hours for the spring 2024 semester.
