BSM hosts worship night with Curtis Grimes on March 31st

The 91¿ì»îÁÖ Baptist Student Ministry and Ten Finger Ministry are hosting a night of music and worship featuring Curtis Grimes on March 31st at Moody Ranch (3491 FM 1000, Mt. Pleasant). Gates open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. The family-friendly event is open to all 91¿ì»îÁÖ students, employees and families and there is no cost to attend. 

"We are very excited to offer this opportunity for the 91¿ì»îÁÖ community to gather in a safe, laid-back environment to enjoy music and fellowship," Tim Williams, Director of 91¿ì»îÁÖ BSM, said.

  • Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in Fine Arts.

Description of Job Duties:

  • Responsibilities include teaching ARTS1301 online during Summer I and Summer II.
  • Work with instructional technology to maintain online courses, and maintaining communication with students.
  • Experience with Blackboard is preferred.

Brandon Pettey places at A&M research symposium

91¿ì»îÁÖ Adjunct Instructor of Developmental English Brandon Pettey recently won second place at the Texas A&M University System Pathways Student Research Symposium in Galveston, Texas. The symposium brings students together from all the A&M University campuses to present research projects and compete in their various disciplines at the undergraduate, master’s, or PhD level. Pettey competed in the master’s Humanities category and presented a paper on the relationship between time and trauma as it is represented in two short stories.

Mt. Pleasant Art Society show to run through March

The 91¿ì»îÁÖ Art Department will host the Mount Pleasant Art Society Annual Membership Show March 10th-30th in the foyer of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. The competitive show features artwork from a variety of local artists. A reception will be held Saturday, March 11th from 2:00-3:30 p.m. in the Whatley Center Foyer. New to the exhibit awards this year is the People’s Choice Award.  Anyone visiting the exhibit is encouraged to vote for his/her favorite artwork.

Honors Scholars win awards at Webb/TSHA meeting in El Paso

Last weekend in El Paso, 91¿ì»îÁÖ honors-student essayists won their 31st and 32nd Caldwell essay awards in Texas history.  The film effort of 91¿ì»îÁÖ’s Webb Society and Honors Northeast won its fifth $600 Chapter Project Award, for the best creation in Texas history performed by any collegiate or university group.
