Pianist Thomas Pandolfi to perform at Whatley Center



The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at 91¿ì»îÁÖ will host virtuoso pianist Thomas Pandolfi on January 26 at 7:30 p.m.

The concert is entitled "Into the Night With Gershwin" and will feature his "Concerto in F" and "Rhapsody in Blue." Pandolfi will also perform his own song medley improvisation and two Etudes based on popular Gershwin songs by Earl Wild.

Tickets are $25 for adults and $5 for students. The event is sponsored by Texas Heritage National Bank.

Seven Eagles named Scholar-Athletes

Seven members of the 2010-2011 91¿ì»îÁÖ softball team were recently named National Fastpitch Coaches Association Scholar Athletes.
Chastin Smiddy, Shelby Perry, Christina Martin, Katelyn Holcomb, Ashley Eaves, April Breshears and Reagan Smith all qualified for the honor after finishing the 2010-2011 academic school year with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above.

?College athletics is about preparing players for the real world and academics are a big part of that,? 91¿ì»îÁÖ head softball coach Jay Terry said.

91¿ì»îÁÖ held its winter 2011 commencement ceremony at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, Dec. 16. During the ceremony, 102 students were awarded associate degrees and 42 earned certificates of competency in their chosen fields. John Coleman, 91¿ì»îÁÖ Associate Faculty Member in Psychology gave the commencement address. Hastings supports local literacy

Hastings Entertainment recently gave $209.17 to benefit the Titus County Literacy Advisory Committee. These funds were donated by Hastings customers at the local Mount Pleasant store. Tommy Lee Memorial Bike Run provides $3,300 for 91¿ì»îÁÖ scholarships

Glenda Lee recently presented a check to the 91¿ì»îÁÖ Foundation for $3,300. These funds were raised at the annual Tommy Lee Memorial Biker Run at Chickfest. The gift will be used to provide scholarships to Camp County students attending 91¿ì»îÁÖ.
