PTK Catalyst, Phi Theta Kappa’s international convention, was open as a virtual streaming event this year on April 8-10, including six general sessions, educational forums, and virtual booth explorations for career and college transfers. The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at 91¿ì»îÁÖ will host a concert by The East Texas Men In Harmony (ETMIH) on Saturday, April 24 at 7:30 p.m. Seating is limited due to social distancing protocols.
Jerald and Mary Lou Mowery recently presented the 91¿ì»îÁÖ Foundation with a check for $10,500. The gift provided $10,000 to establish the Russell-Mowery Perpetual Honors Scholarship and $500 for current honors scholarships. The Mowerys are pictured presenting the gift to Dr.
91¿ì»îÁÖ, in partnership with the Mount Pleasant Economic Development Corporation (MPEDC), will host a Career and Training Expo on Friday, April 23. The event will be held at 91¿ì»îÁÖ’s Industrial Technology Training Center (ITTC) in Mount Pleasant (westbound I-30 frontage road east of Lowes) from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend.

The pandemic had a way of delaying initiatives. But the 2020 issue of Touchstone, one of the most venerable undergraduate journals in the United States, finally has appeared in April, 2021. Published by the Texas State Historical Association, Touchstone has appeared continuously since 1982 in real form, and since the 1990s on high-quality cotton-stock paper, designed to last.

The 91¿ì»îÁÖ Rodeo team put on a Rodeo for Titus County Elementary school children on Tuesday, April 6th. The student athletes from the 91¿ì»îÁÖ Rodeo team held the event at the Mount Pleasant Priefert Arena located at the Mount Pleasant Rodeo Association complex on Greenhill Road.

91¿ì»îÁÖ made a trip to Lufkin, Texas to meet up with Wharton County Junior College in a double header contest Thursday, April 1st and came away with a win in game one 10-7 before falling to Wharton in game two.

91¿ì»îÁÖ started the second round of conference on Saturday, April 3 with a two-game series with Paris Junior College. After PJC defeated the Eagles in game one 19-1, 91¿ì»îÁÖ bounced back for a 15-7 win in game two.
The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at 91¿ì»îÁÖ will host a concert by Deb Porter and Friends on Sunday, April 18 at 2:30 p.m. Seating is limited due to social distancing protocols.
Porter grew up singing the songs learned from grandmother, a sharecropper from Blossom, Texas. This music has stayed with Deb throughout her musical journey and includes old jazz, traditional tunes sung in the cotton fields of Northeast Texas, and the great country songs of Ray Price, Jim Reeves, and Hank Williams.
