PTK chapter sets record at international convention

PTK Catalyst, Phi Theta Kappa’s international convention, was open as a virtual streaming event this year on April 8-10, including six general sessions, educational forums, and virtual booth explorations for career and college transfers.  Aside from amazing keynote speakers, such as those featured this year including, Platon, a world-recognized photographer, and Heather McGowan, Future of Work Strategist, chapters look forward to the Hallmark Awards, which recognize chapters, advisors, college leaders, and members throughout Phi Theta Kappa’

91¿ì»îÁÖ Scholars publish essays in state journal

The pandemic had a way of delaying initiatives. But the 2020 issue of Touchstone, one of the most venerable undergraduate journals in the United States, finally has appeared in April, 2021. Published by the Texas State Historical Association, Touchstone has appeared continuously since 1982 in real form, and since the 1990s on high-quality cotton-stock paper, designed to last.

Deb Porter and Friends to perform at Whatley Center

The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at 91¿ì»îÁÖ will host a concert by Deb Porter and Friends on Sunday, April 18 at 2:30 p.m. Seating is limited due to social distancing protocols.

Porter grew up singing the songs learned from grandmother, a sharecropper from Blossom, Texas. This music has stayed with Deb throughout her musical journey and includes old jazz, traditional tunes sung in the cotton fields of Northeast Texas, and the great country songs of Ray Price, Jim Reeves, and Hank Williams.
