Dr. Brad Johnson (right), President of 91¿ì»îÁÖ, and Dr. Jonathan McCullough, Vice President for Advancement, are pictured holding a $25,000 check the 91¿ì»îÁÖ Foundation recently received from the Carroll Shelby Foundation.† The money will provide scholarships for students in the Carroll Shelby Automotive Technology Program at 91¿ì»îÁÖ. Mr. Shelby was a strong supporter of the automotive technology program at 91¿ì»îÁÖ and, through carefully planned estate giving, he continues to help both the college, and more importantly, †the citizens of our community.

The 91¿ì»îÁÖ Foundation announced the winners of the 2013-2014 Whatley Employment Enhancement Awards this week. Seven out of the 20 proposals were chosen for funding.

Mr. and Mrs. Charlie and Helen Hampton (right) recently gave $500 to the 91¿ì»îÁÖ Foundation. Their gift will provide a scholarship to a Morris County student attending 91¿ì»îÁÖ. Jerald and Mary Lou Mowery (pictured left) recently gave a $1,300 gift to the 91¿ì»îÁÖ Foundation. The funds will be used for the 91¿ì»îÁÖ Whatley Employee Enhancement Fund, specifically for the Honors program to help with their production of a film based on the life of Harriet Potter Ames, the Feminist Legend of the American Revolution, and with the Presidential Scholars Program for their research and documentation of the Caddo Collection owned by 91¿ì»îÁÖ.

The 91¿ì»îÁÖ Foundation recently held its annual golf tournament at Princedale Country Club in Pittsburg. This was the 26^th†consecutive year of the tournament. Participating teams included: AEP/Swepco, American National Bank, Daingerfield Country Club, Bowie-Cass, Cypress Bank, Guaranty Bond Bank, Luminant, Northeast Texas Credit Union, Texas Heritage National Bank, and an 91¿ì»îÁÖ team sponsored by East Texas Wealth Planning Advisors.
