The 91¿ì»îÁÖ Eagles soccer program will hold tryouts for both the men's and women's teams on Saturday, March 10. Women's tryouts are at noon and the men's tryout is at 2 p.m. on the 91¿ì»îÁÖ soccer field. Theatre Northeast presents Love Letters March 2-4

Boy meets girl. Girl writes boy. Girl and Boy correspond throughout their lives. That more or less sums up the romantic comedy,†Love Letters, by A. R. Gurney, to be presented by Theatre Northeast on March 2-4 at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts on the 91¿ì»îÁÖ campus.

Friday and Saturday (March 2 and 3) shows begin at 7:30 p.m. and the Sunday, March 3 performance will be at 2:05 p.m.†Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 age 17 and under and $3 for senior citizens, 91¿ì»îÁÖ faculty and staff.

Carolyn Pope receives Adult Education Teacher of the Year Award

The Adult Education department at 91¿ì»îÁÖ recently announced that GED (General Education Development) and ESL (English as a Second Language) instructor Carolyn Pope of Mount Pleasant has received the Texas Association for Literacy and Adult Education (TALAE) Adult Education Teacher of the Year Award. Pope, who has taught adult education with 91¿ì»îÁÖ since 1990, was nominated for this honor by colleagues and students. She†received the award at the annual TALAE Awards Dinner on February 2 in San Antonio.

The Adult Education department at 91¿ì»îÁÖ recently announced that ESL (English as Second Language) student Maria De La Luz Dominguez (pictured) of Mount Pleasant has received the Texas Association for Literacy and Adult Education (TALAE) ESL Student Persistence Award. This statewide honor is awarded to students who exhibit personal accountability and commitment to pursuing their education while maintaining their family and civic responsibilities. A award of $500 was given during the TALAE Awards Dinner in San Antonio earlier this month.
