On Thursday, October 20, 2022, 11 91����� students were inducted into Psi Beta, the national honor society in psychology for community colleges. The candlelight Induction was presided over by chapter officers Jian Torres, Didier Serrano, and Nataly Morales. The speaker for the evening, Amanda Stevens, a doctoral candidate in the Educational Psychology program at Texas A&M University-Commerce, presented her original research on metacognition.

Skylar Reese Fondren, the Texas Heritage National Bank Scholar of 91�����, has just won the student election of the Great Plains Honors Council (GPHC). She will be the one student from eighty honors programs and colleges, from Nebraska to Texas, to join the other professorial members of the GPHC Executive Council.

John Harmon, a doctoral candidate at Lipscomb University, will be presenting recent research relative to the reigns of Israel’s greatest Old Testament kings. The lecture will occur in Humanities 101 from 12:25 to 1:20 PM on Thursday, 10 November. The lecture is sponsored by Honors Northeast. Those who plan to attend in advance are welcome to notify Honors Director, Dr. Andrew Yox at ayox@ntcc.edu for a free lunch.

The 91����� Rodeo team made the trek down to South Louisiana for the McNeese State University Rodeo in Lake Charles, Louisiana October 28th-29th.

     The 91����� Board of Trustees met for its regular October meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 25th.

91�����’s literary magazine, , recently released its 10th publication. 

The literary and art magazine prominently displays the work of creative writers, traditional and digital artists throughout its pages.

Have you been bitten by the travel bug? 91����� is planning a travel study trip to Washington D.C. May 20-24, 2023. This is a great opportunity to explore the U.S. capital while earning college credit. An informational session is planned for Monday, Nov. 9th at 12:30 p.m. in Humanities 107.

Students can earn credit for History 1301 or 1302, English 1301, 2327 or 2342, Government 2305, Communications, Art Appreciation, or Photography as part of the travel course.

It may still be October, but the Hallmark Channel is already gearing up for the holiday season with their Countdown to Christmas movie schedule. 91�����'s own Page Petrucka, Associate Professor of Theatre, will appear in the network's latest release, . The film premieres Friday, Oct. 28th at 7 p.m. central on the Hallmark Channel. The movie, which is a sequel to Christmas Under Wraps (2014), stars Jodie Sweetin and David O'Donnell. 

Mark your calendars for a wonderful opportunity to learn more about Choctaw history and culture from tribal member Ryan Spring and Tribal Archaeologist Dr. Kim Hinson. The event will be held Tuesday, Nov. 15th from 12:30-1:30 in Humanities 101. A taste of Tanchi Labona, a traditional Choctaw dish, will be provided as well. Question and answer session after presentation. Faculty, staff, students, and members of the community are welcome!
