Eagles Baseball kicks off spring season

The 91¿ì»îÁÖ (91¿ì»îÁÖ) Eagles Baseball program is off to a rocky start after losing its season openers Friday and Saturday to Hill College and Cedar Valley Community College in non-conference play.


According to Assistant Coach Shane Wedd, Friday's game was the first chance that many of the players had to play in a regular season game and, despite these early setbacks, he is optimistic about the team's potential this season.

Tickets are still available to see Sinbad's live comedy performance at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts Friday at 7 p.m.†The show is sponsored by Guaranty Bond Bank. Tickets are $50 for rows A-B,†$35 for rows C-K, and $30 for rows L-O (no group discounts).





Actor and Comedian Sinbad arrived on the comedy scene with a ?hit ?em in†the face? style of comedy that has kept audiences laughing in the aisles†for over the past two decades.

Filing for 91¿ì»îÁÖ board places begins Jan. 29

Filing for Place One, Place Two, Place Three, Place Five and Place Six on the 91¿ì»îÁÖ Board of Trustees will begin on†Wednesday, January 29, 2014, and continues through†5 p.m., Friday, February 28, 2014.†Filing applications are available from elections clerk Cindy Foster in the 91¿ì»îÁÖ administration building from 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Fridays.

Offices open Saturday for registration


91¿ì»îÁÖ (main campus student services) will be open from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Jan. 11 to assist students needing to complete the registration process for the spring semester. Students will have the opportunity to speak with academic advisors, access computers to register online, make payments and receive help with financial aid.†The College Store will also be open during this time to allow students to purchase books and other supplies.†The spring semester begins Monday, Jan. 13.

Free GED and ESL classes offered

The Adult Education Department at 91¿ì»îÁÖ (91¿ì»îÁÖ) will offer free General Education Development (GED) classes and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at various locations throughout the area this spring.
