Northeast Texas Photography Club featured in Whatley Center exhibit

The Northeast Texas Photography Club will exhibit a collection of work in the foyer of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at 91¿ì»îÁÖ November 9 through December 3. The display will include photography in a variety of styles, all shot by local members. An artist reception will be held Thursday, Nov. 12 at 2:30 p.m. in the Whatley Center foyer.


The Northeast Texas Photography Club was founded about six years ago by a group of local photographers.

Local students attend STAR program

91¿ì»îÁÖ recently hosted its first Health STAR (Student Training and Access to Resources) program. Over a three-day period, 35 area high school students with an interest in healthcare professions spent time at 91¿ì»îÁÖ and Titus Regional Medical Center (pictured). Students had the opportunity to learn more about the educational†requirements†for various healthcare fields, shadow working†practitioners and participate in real-world scenarios using simulators.

Team Arise gives 91¿ì»îÁÖ veteran scholarship

Michael Brown (left) recently gave $500 to the 91¿ì»îÁÖ Foundation on behalf of his organization, Team Arise. The funds will provide a scholarship to 91¿ì»îÁÖ students who are veterans or children of veterans. Dr. Jonathan McCullough, 91¿ì»îÁÖ Vice President for Advancement, is pictured receiving the gift. Students take $29 Food Stamp Challenge

This semester, †students in Sarah Rainey's†ethics, †philosophy, †state and federal government courses are engaging in the 91¿ì»îÁÖ $29 Food Stamp Challenge to raise awareness regarding poverty, altruism, and policy.


Working in groups, students design a meal plan that meets at least 75% of nutritional guidelines through the USDA Super Tracker.

Carroll Shelby Foundation gives $25,000 for 91¿ì»îÁÖ scholarships

The 91¿ì»îÁÖ Foundation recently received a $25,000 gift from the Carroll Shelby Foundation. The donation will provide scholarships for students in the Carroll Shelby Automotive Technology Program at 91¿ì»îÁÖ. Dr. Jonathan McCullough (second from right), 91¿ì»îÁÖ Vice President for Advancement, accepted the gift.

Psi Beta inducts new members

91¿ì»îÁÖ recently inducted new members into Psi Beta, the national honor society in psychology for students at two-year colleges.
