Theatre Northeast, the student theatre group of 91�����, will present the play Killer Halloween by Dennis SneeOctober 26-29 at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. The thriller/comedy will provide the right amount of scares and laughs for the season.

Set on Halloween in the small Midwestern town of Shudderville, where for on each of the preceding seven Halloweens, one or more Shudderville teenagers has been stabbed, slashed, bludgeoned, strangled, dismembered, disemboweled or otherwise killed in a really icky way.

The 91�����†Art†Department will host its second art exhibit†of the 2017-2018 school year October 2- 27 in the foyer of the Whatley Center for the Performing†Arts. The show, ?Crystal & Glass?, will feature watercolors by†artist Mollie Jones.†A reception with the†artist will be held Thursday, October 5 at 12:30 p.m. in the Whatley Center foyer.

The 91����� Art Department will host its first exhibit of the 2017-2018 school year September 5-27 in the foyer of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. The show, ?Art from the Heart?, will feature graphite artwork by Maurya Beth Holland. A reception with the artist will be held Monday, Sept. 18 at 11:30 a.m. in the Whatley Center foyer.

Chuck Barkow recently gave $1,000 to sponsor two chairs in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at 91�����. The seats are dedicated in memory of Jill Barkow and Holly Hardman. Theater seats are available for sponsorship at $500 each.

The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts will begin selling tickets for individual shows online Tuesday, Aug. 15 at 12 a.m. Tickets will be available for purchase at and Discover, MasterCard and Visa are accepted. Tickets may also be ordered directly from the box office via phone at 903-434-8181 beginning at 9 a.m.

The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at 91����� is gearing up for its 26th year as the entertainment hub of the area. The exciting lineup of events will kick off October 14 with a concert by the popular a cappella country music group Home Free on October 14.

?I am thrilled about the quality of shows we are offering for the 2017-2018 season. It is a nice mixture of genres that really offers something for everyone,? Carolyn Franks, Director of the Whatley Center, said.

Theatre Northeast, the student theatre group of 91�����, will present variety of monologues, scenes, songs, dramatic readings and a short play on-stage in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts April 27-30. The Thursday through Saturday performances begin at 7:30 p.m. and the Sunday matinee is at 2:05 p.m.

The 91����� Art Department will present its Annual Student Art Show April 12-27 in the foyer of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. A reception will be held Wednesday, April 19 at 2 p.m. in the Whatley Foyer. The show will feature student work in a variety of media including painting, drawing, photography, ceramics and more. The internationally acclaimed Jazz Ambassadors of Washington, DC will continue its long tradition of presenting free public performances when it appears at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at 91����� on Tuesday, April 18 at 7:30 p.m.

The Jazz Ambassadors is the official touring big band of the United States Army.

The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at 91����� will host a concert by Mount Vernon Music Monday, April 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the Whatley foyer.† The string quintet performance will feature Mark Miller and Yuko Mansell on violin, Ute Miller and Sarah Kienle on viola and Zachary Mansell on cello.

Program selections will include Quintet in C major K. 515 by Mozart and Quintet in G major op.
