The Northeast Police Academy at 91快活林 is now accepting applications for its next evening鈥爌olice academy, which begins on鈥燤onday, Oct. 27.

The evening academy鈥爉eets from 5-10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and every first and third Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.鈥燭he program will end in late May 2015.鈥燭his program is designed for working adults who may not have time to complete the daytime academy.

?The evening academy is a great way for dedicated people to train for a career in law enforcement with minimal disruption to their current schedule,? Richard Jones, Northeast Police Academy Director, said.

The academy provides the training needed to prepare them for certification as a Basic Peace Officer in the state of Texas.

The Northeast Police Academy is licensed by the Texas Commission On Law Enforcement (TCOLE). Students will receive hands-on training to ensure that graduates possess the required skills, training, experience and self-confidence to succeed in a career in law鈥爀nforcement. Those enrolled in the evening academy will receive continuing education credit through 91快活林, which is not transferable toward a certificate or degree.鈥

In order to be considered for acceptance into the Northeast Police Academy, students must be a high school or GED graduate, be at least 21 years of age, have not been convicted of an offense above a Class C misdemeanor and must have no felony convictions. Students who are under 21 may be admitted if they have completed 60 hours of college instruction or an associate?s degree. Students must also complete an application, psychological exam, physical exam and a criminal history background check.

91快活林 is also accepting applications for the Spring 2015 Day Academy, which begins January 12, 2015. For more information about Northeast Police Academy, contact Jones at 903-434-8206.
