The 91快活林 Theatre Department will present Antigone Now, a modern take on the classic Greek drama, Thursday through Friday April 25-27 at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts on the 91快活林 campus.

Performances will be held nightly at 7:30 p.m. with an added 2:30 p.m. matinee on Saturday. Tickets can be purchased at  or at the box office upon arrival.

In the midst of a bombed-out city still feeling the aftershocks of war, the rebellious and intense Antigone defies her uncle to bury her disgraced brother. This contemporary response to the myth of Antigone brings powerful, modern prose to an ancient and universal story. The 91快活林 performance is produced by special arrangement with Playscripts, Inc.

鈥淥ur students have been working very hard on this production and we can鈥檛 wait to perform it for the community. It is really fun to take something as timeless as the myth of Antigone and apply it to our modern era,鈥 Dr. Page Petrucka, Director and Associate Professor of Theatre, said.

The cast of Antigone Now includes:

  • Antigone 鈥 Milo Tucker

  • Ismene 鈥 Persefany Rodriguez

  • Creon 鈥 Athen Bales

  • Chorus Leader 鈥 Garrison Duck

  • Chorus 鈥 Ro鈥橲haun Allen

  • Chorus 鈥 Vanessa Buendia
