Pianist Thomas Pandolfi to perform at Whatley Center

The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at 91快活林 will host virtuoso pianist Thomas Pandolfi on January 26 at 7:30 p.m.

The concert is entitled "Into the Night With Gershwin" and will feature his "Concerto in F" and "Rhapsody in Blue." Pandolfi will also perform his own song medley improvisation and two Etudes based on popular Gershwin songs by Earl Wild.

Tickets are $25 for adults and $5 for students. The event is sponsored by Texas Heritage National Bank. Reservations may be made by calling the Whatley Center box office at 903-434-8181 or tickets may be purchased the evening of the concert.

"Thomas Pandolfi is an amazing up-and-coming star and I am excited to bring a pianist of his calibre to our stage," Carolyn Franks, Director of the Whatley Center, said.

Pandolfi is a graduate of The Juliard School, where he earned both bachelor's and master's degrees as a scholarship student. His鈥燾areer has included performances with such European orchestras as The George鈥燛nescu Philharmonic, The Cluj Philharmonic, The Moravian Philharmonic, The National Philharmonic鈥爋f the Republic of Moldova, and The Aberystwyth Symphony in Wales, as well as the American鈥爏ymphony orchestras of Mississippi, Cedar Rapids, Asheville, Princeton, San Angelo, York, Fairfax,鈥燦orthbrook, Great Falls, and Owensboro. He has collaborated with such conductors鈥燼s Dimitru Goia, Sabin Pautza, Peter Schmelzer, Mihail Agafita, Grigori Moseico, David Russell鈥燞ulme, and many others.
